Garage Revamp

So after weeks of drooling over garage organizers and plans, towards the end of September we finally took out the handicap ramp and old closet. Which gave us two car spots instead of the empty and awkwardly set-up land mine we had before. The wonder bar was our tool of choice and we salvaged all the decent wood for future projects. While tearing everything out we realized that the floor was painted after this stuff was previously installed and parts of the cement had been chipped away by nails!!
We made some really great holes in the wall as we went, luckily for us they matched the other holes in the wall as well. You can see our one and only outlet in the garage above. We are hoping to get an outlet strip above a future work bench...

This was our temporary step once we had everything torn out. Chloe didn't seem to mind and if you avoided the right side of the board it seemed to work for a while. You can see the floor color above...
About 20 minutes into this project we realized that we didn't have enough light. This little bulb was carrying us into the night and we knew it was time to upgrade.

Ben, the family electrician stands proudly in front of this new lighting job. We took the wiring from the previous one bulb and extended it into three light boxes. And, brought the garage up to fairfax code, which requires actual light boxes for these. While our garage was still horrible cluttered - we had two stalls and tons of light. Following this we scrapped what we could and organized everything into the shed in back. Sigh...this was a 2 weekend project...the lowes folks have started recognizing us as we come in. :)
