Cleaning the Kitchen

Friday night Amanda and I dug into cleaning. We tried the reset button on the water heater and had no luck. We resolved ourselves then and there to replace the damned heater as soon as we moved in.
As it turns out oxyclean and some luke-warm microwaved water seems to cut through almost any filth we can find. We scrubbed along working our way around the kitchen until the room actually started to look its natural color...white! We're still a coat of paint and some contact paper away form where we want to be but its amazing how just cutting through the grime to the surface can change how a room looks.
Amanda picked up some sandwiches, mixed nuts, and deviled eggs at the local store and we realized just how good protein tastes after you exert yourself that much.
We got a hair sideways and ran to HomeDepot to grab contact paper and I picked up a line tester. Primarily because I wanted to make sure the Water Heater was getting electricity, but as it turns out it has numerous uses and will no doubt pay for itself in averting trips to the hospital.
After cleaning that night we headed back to the apartment to start packing and prepare for the Uhaul extravaganza the next day. I called Josh my guitarist and he was willing to volunteer to help us move.
Fairly busy day looking back, it was nice to have the two cars so as soon as I was done I could head to the house and scrub instead of having to spend an hour driving in to get Amanda then digging in.
